A Service of Memories

The Monday before Christmas

Remembering those we miss during the holiday season

In the quiet of the evening, with candles, music, and an invitation to share memories and communion, we'll worship while remembering loss of special loved ones. The first experience of Christmas without a special loved one is difficult. Christmas may still be a time when you grieve someone dear from years past. And, as a church community, we share in each other's joys and pain. All are invited to gather as church and community in support of one another.

We gathered in support of those who might be:
Facing a first Christmas without a loved one
Unemployed
Struggling with depression or Seasonal Affective Disorder
New to the community or away from family
Struggling with personal health concerns or in their extended family
Newly separated or divorced
Financially troubled
Struggling with an addiction
Standing in support of those who are sad at Christmastime

In addition to the light of the Advent Wreath that represents Hope, Peace, Joy, and Love, we added a light of Healing -- the healing that can come from being together in community worship among our brothers and sisters trusting in Christ’s hope and promise of a new day.
