ÿ PASTOR KRIS’ LENTEN PRAYER DISCIPLINE: If you participated in the life of Disciples Christian Church this time last year, you may remember that, as part of Pastor Kris’ spiritual discipline during Lent, she prays for every person in the congregation.  If you are new to us, Pastor Kris considers this practice a wonderful way to be intentional about her relationship with us as pastor and congregation.  She prays for each of us as individuals.  She has developed a form that we can complete to help guide her prayers the day she prays for us.  No one else sees it; whatever is shared is kept with strict pastoral confidentiality.  If you do not receive one of these letters, please complete the form below!  You may copy the form below and paste it into a document, complete it and mail it to Pastor Kris (marked "confidential" on the envelope), or you may email it to her by copying and pasting the form below into the body of an email and sending it to: pastor_kris’_lenten_prayer@discipleschristian.org.

Prayer form:

Throughout my ministry, I have maintained a practice of praying for each person in my congregation during Lent.  It is a good spiritual discipline for me, but even more than that, it is good that at least once a year, we are intentional about our relationship with each other.

If you were participating in the life of Disciples Christian Church this time last year, you may remember receiving a letter and a prayer form from me.  I am altering the process some this year and using both regular and email.  Email has become the  preferred method of communication for many of us.

I ask that you take some time to help guide my prayer.  Perhaps these questions will be helpful.

I have these joys/concerns for:

Myself and my family

Disciples Christian Church

         The community/country/world

I celebrate that:

I struggle with:

You may send your information via regular mail or copy and paste your response into an email using the address above.  If you are already a part of our congregation as a member or visitor, I will pray for you whether or not you respond, but the effort is enriched if you involve yourself by thinking about your joys and struggles and communicating those with your pastor.

My prayers are for you as an individual, which means if others in your family attend Disciples, they will receive separate e-mails.  Many things we do together as families in church, but this is intentionally a personal exercise.  Whatever you share in your replies to me are kept in strict pastoral confidentiality.  No one else will see what you have written.

And, if you choose to pray for me on this day, I would be grateful for those prayers.

Blessings,

Pastor Kris
