DCC has approximately five acres of property with about half of that being green space. We have numerous mature Oak trees as well as shrubs, smaller trees, gardens and yards. In the past couple of years we’ve begun to plant pollinator garden’s on our property. There is one next to our office and small garden out front of the the Education building. We have plans and dreams to replace our tree-lawn and the edge of our parking lot and our smaller courtyard in front of the Heights Emergency Food Center with pollinator gardens as well. Someday, once the old oak tree on the Southeast corner of our property has out-lived it’s life, we’d like to have a community garden on the front corner lawn of the building. If you have interest in contributing to the establishment or maintenance of pollinator gardens at DCC please contact us.
