Solar & Energy Efficiency

At DCC we have have added a solar array, re-insulated the attic of our Fellowship Hall, replaced our two water heaters with with a water-heater heat pump (that pulls hot air from our boiler room to heat the water) and a tankless water-heater, replaced our fridges and freezers with energy efficient appliances, have begun replacing our AC units, replaced most of the light fixtures/bulbs with LED fixtures/bulbs in the building, and are exploring other energy efficiencies. We use and spend far less on energy today than we did just twenty years ago, even without accounting for the cost of inflation and with our increased building use.

Pictured above is DCC’s 39 panel (21 kW) solar array located on our education building. We have been consistently addressing energy conservation in our building remodeling process as well as seeking alternative energy in order to reduce our carbon footprint.
